It is important to teach rhyming word to students, once they get their understanding of the letters. Since Rhyming words are easy to learn, because they have same ending sound. This give student opportunity to understand the sound of letter and to figure out which letter will go with that sound. It is good exercise to assess their learning as well by the end of the ear and to revisit. Here is the slide for STEM curriculum, You can challenge your students by asking them to print as well along with reading. In this way they will get opportunity to practice their printing as well.

Check other posts for the reference, hope it will be helpful.

4 easy ways to teach Rhyming words to kids virtually.

  1. Read Aloud: Read rhyming book such as Pete the Cat ,The little Llama gets a cat or may be Fancy Nancy for Puppy school.

  2. Drag and Drop activity: Show them the picture and ask them to sound it and try to guess (help them with positive prompting or by clues).

  3. Sing along videos or ask kids to write as other kids say the words.

  4. Play the game "Who am I?" online by showing them the picture. for example show them the picture of hat and ask them "I have am somebody/something which rhyme with hat and it flies. Who am I?
